Last Wedding of 2011 – Sabine & Norbert | Starnbergersee Hochzeitsfotograf

Munich Photographer | München Fotografin

December 11, 2011

I thought my wedding season was over at the beginning of November… but I was wrong!! :) Another photographer in the area posted about a couple who were getting married this weekend and their photographer dropped out last minute, so they were urgently looking for a new one…I was free so he passed along my website info along with a few other photographers who had time, and on Wednesday I received a cal from Sabine. I was so excited to have the chance to shoot one more wedding this year since I already started missing wedding season :)
Anyway… Saturday morning I took a train down to Starnberger See…it was raining when I left Munich but as we headed south it started looking more and more like a Winter Wonderland outside, so I was hopeful that there would be snow at my destination.. unfortunately no such luck… it rained most of the day. But that didn’t matter whatsoever, the poor weather didn’t get anyones spirits down. Sabine & Norbert had a wonderful little ceremony in the Spiegelsaal in Schloss Garatshausen in Feldafing, and I have to say, the Standesbeamtin there did a really nice job. I love the extra reading in Bavarian she through in there, even if I (and most of the guests) only understood some of what she said :) After the ceremony and some ‘congratulations’, we all headed to the other side of the lake to Schlossgut Oberambach. There they had a Sekt Empfang, and had a chance to mingle with their guests. After a toast was made, I was able to steal the Bride & Groom for some shots of the 2 of them, and their son Niko, who will be a big brother in the Spring :) I stayed until lunch time then headed back home. One of the things I like about having to travel a bit for weddings is that I get the chance to sit on the train and look through all the photos I took that day… as I looked through Sabine & Norbert’s shots, I noticed there was a huge smile on my face…I know I’ve said it before, but I will continue saying it..I really love the intimate and personal feeling of small weddings. You could see and feel the love and happiness the guests had for Sabine & Norbert, and its so obvious in the photos that I just can’t help but to smile when I look at them :) So despite the less-than perfect weather, I think it’s safe to say that Sabine & Norbert had a perfect day :)
Sabine & Norbert, es hat mich sehr gefreut euch kennzulernen! Ich wünsch euch alles Gute für eure Zukunft :) Enjoy your sneak peek!

I LOVE the Fall!! | München Fotograf

Munich Photographer | München Fotografin

November 6, 2011

I don’t know why, but this is the first year I’ve really gotten to take advantage of all the BEAUTIFUL fall colors! If you’ve seen any of my work before, you’ll know I LOVE color, and lots of it! Thats why I was so excited about my session yesterday with Juliane & Michael! They wanted to shoot somewhere in ‘nature’, and wanted it to be colorful…that sounded perfect to me!! :) You might recognize Michael from the Business photos I took last week, well yesterday I finally got a chance to meet his other half, Juliane. All I really have to say is that they are both super sweet, very photogenic, and just really cute with each other! We had a lot of fun walking around the Englischer Garten yesterday taking pictures, even Michael took some with his old-school East-German film camera (can’t wait to see how those come out Michael!!)…it was great..homemade pecan-cranberry muffins from Juliane, lots of natural smiles, and laughter, and Starbucks after..in other words..my kinda session!:) And, I have to add..this is one reason why I love Munich so much…there’s so much beautiful nature right in the middle of the city!! I’m so lucky to live here!
Anyway…here are a few shots from yesterday…enjoy :)

All of the wonderful client feedback I’ve received lately plus those Christmas Mini Sessions last week, gave a bit of a jump start to my holly jolly Holiday Spirit :) I want to give something away :) Since I can’t give something away to everyone, I needed to figure out a good way to pick the lucky winner :) First of all…I’m sure you want to know what the prize is :) The prize is a 16×24 inch (40 x 60cm) Canvas or Acrylic print from a professional lab of any photo of your choice from your wedding or session! So what do you need to do? The first thing to do, incase you haven’t already done so is to ‘Like’ Kristin Speed Photography’s Facebook Page…then you need to tell all of your friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, everyone you know to go to that same page and post your name on the wall (they’ll need to like the page first to be able to post to the wall). Whoever has the most votes between November 1st – 14th wins the prize! And, to give people a little push to vote for you..the winner gets to choose one person/couple/family that voted (aslong as they are here in Munich) to receive a free session! I know not all of my clients are active on facebook, so they can have people vote by adding a comment to this post. The only requirements I have is that the winner have a mailing address in Germany or the US where I can send your prize too, and this is only available to 2010 & 2011 clients. Also, not to state the obvious, but you never know…only 1 vote per person allowed (for blog comments, email addresses are necessary and will be checked for validity), and any violations will be disqualified..we want to keep it fair after all :)

The winner will be announced on the 15th!! :)

Goodluck!!! :)

Kelly S.: Tiffany and Mike!!!

A Little Different | München Business Fotografie

October 28, 2011

Last night I had another session..but it was a bit different than my usual sessions. This time it wasn’t a wedding, wasn’t a family, or Boudoir.. it was a Business session! I get a few inquiries for ‘Business’ type stuff, but usually they want the standard (read boring) ‘sit in an awkward position infront of this ‘nice’ blue background’ type of shots, and I prefer not to do those, but this was different! They wanted something that brings across who they are in a friendly, relaxed and yet professional way. Sooo thats what we did! And I had just as much fun shooting them as I do with my other sessions! And I have to give a shout out and thanks to Ingrid Gerstenbrein from Ingrid Make-up for doing a wonderful job on make-up! Ok, enough words..how about some photos?

Who are these people?

Lets shed some light on that question (hehehe get it?) :)

Dudududunnndudunnnnn…drumroll please :) Hehe, just kidding…but I know there are a bunch of readers out there eagerly awaiting this post. Anyway… last weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting a little mini-session marathon with my good friend and fellow photographer Robin Keller. It was AWESOME! We had AMAZING weather (maybe a bit chilly but when I shoot, I am so ‘in the zone’ I don’t notice much around me…that or the numbess set in hehe), super sweet families, and lots of ADORABLE kids! I really had a great time, and am so glad we did this! Its been something we’ve talked about doing for the past 2 years, but Christmas always seems to creep up a bit too fast…this year we were on the ball :) And now I can’t wait to do it again!! Maybe in the spring? For Mother’s Day? ;)

To all the wonderful families that took part..it was GREAT meeting you, or in some cases seeing you again! You were all such great sports dealing with the chilly weather and still putting on a big happy face:) I hope you love the photos! :)

And now an extra treat (well, not sure how much of a treat it is, but lets call it that anyway :)) here are some shots of the girls who are usually behind the camera that we took of each other in between sessions :)
